Why does Joby Aviation Academy offer flight training to the public?

Joby Aviation Academy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Joby Aviation and is expected to eventually be the primary source of FAA-certificated commercial pilots for Joby's air taxi business. 

We provide industry-leading training for individuals seeking single-engine land pilot ratings. We do not currently offer publicly available flight training in the powered-lift category or on the Joby S4 electric aircraft. While we do not currently have a formal pilot pipeline or pathway program that leads directly to Joby, our mission is to remove barriers and increase access to aviation education and careers. We do this by providing the highest quality of professional pilot training for the next generation of aviators.
